Degado Sector is an interstellar cold war setting, based on Classic Traveller and inspired by British sci-fi and cold war fiction of the 1970s.

21th December X971. Titu. Jailed diplomat found dead in cell. Gun smuggled in by foreign spy in prison service, claim government sources.
23th December X971. Democratic Union of Worlds. Premier Onderot announces trade deal with the Free Armies of Degado, in defiance of the blockade. First shipment of computers, children's toys, and uranium to arrive in time for Christmas.
25th December X971. Prime Minister George Stamp celebrates Christmas with his family at Sandhope. Labour Party insiders brief that Stamp "shouldn't bother coming back to work in the New Year".
28rd December X971. Premier Onderot of the Democratic Union of Worlds visits newly independent Sant Marella Republic. Calls for Stamp to "send the guns home".
30th December X971. Representatives of the Saxe-Gotha Kingdom and the Free Armies of Degado sign provisional treaty, ending blockade.
1st January X972. You purchase the decommissioned patrol vessel HMS Peony and accept a charter from the Saxe-Gotha Kingdoms, granting permission to do business in Degado Sector as you see fit.
